U.S. History

Course:
Eleventh Grade Social Studies will cover the history of the United States from the Reconstruction Period in 1877 to present day.  The course is the second part of a two year study of American
History. The Learners will use a variety of documents, texts, and articles to promote mastery of
social studies knowledge.  As a class, we will read, analyze, and discuss many points of history
as well as opinions. The Learners will demonstrate their knowledge and comprehension of U.S.
History through graded quizzes, tests, projects, and various in-class assignments. Concepts
that will be learned include; Identification of major U.S. eras, Economic issues in America, U.S.
foreign policies, the Nation’s involvement in WWI and WWII, Civil Rights, and much more.
